What is the difference between just using a computer to write letters, emails, etc. and using cursive handwriting? In research findings reported in 2011, by Mangen and colleague Jean-Luc Velay of the University of Marseille found that “brain scans revealed that while learning by handwriting prompted activity in a particular part of the brain known as Broca’s area, learning by keyboarding prompted little or no such activity.” [1] Further the Broca’s area has a number of functions, including but not limited to being “associated with speech production and articulation. Our ability to articulate ideas, as well as use words accurately in spoken and written language, has been attributed to this crucial area.”[2]

The act of handwriting has much more effect on our lives than just putting letters on a piece of paper. Given today’s business world need of being able to communicate better, it looks like handwriting can improve our abilities in speech, articulation of ideas and the use of our words accurately in spoken and written language. Walter A. Rosenblith Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience, found that Broca’s area actually consists of two distinct subunits. One of these focuses selectively on language processing, while the other is part of a brainwide network that appears to act as a central processing unit for general cognitive functions.[3]

During the last 20 years, I have observed handwriting changing the amount of money people make, improved cognitive abilities, making it easier to complete tasks more efficiently, increase your ability to create or improve relationships, get the job done faster easier and reduce fears and stress. This is really just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the overall effects cursive handwriting can have on your abilities and quality of life.

I’m not talking about using it in your everyday computerized everything world, although it would be great to see what kind of additional benefits could be had from doing that too. However, by you, doing something as simple as handwriting writing in a daily journal about anything, using proper cursive handwriting, some of the benefits described above are possible. If you really want to see the best benefits, I can do an analysis of your handwriting. From that, I’ll show you the three specific letters in your writing to change to give you a very good result. If you want something else that affects your life and your handwriting five times more than just your regular handwriting, we can go over your signature and I’ll show you the exact changes to get you the very biggest results.

Please feel free to give me a call to schedule your consultation with me to see how I can identify the things in your handwriting that may be creating problems and how to fix them!
